nice vid...too bad this was the first race in 13 years of racing i had to quit due to safety. who the hell puts on a race without marshalls? arrows on the road just don't cut it, especially with a group of 35 riders going along at 30mph are chasing a break. the last thing they're going to do is have their eyes on the pavement looking for arrows, or slowing to examine road signs. so by the third time the pack had come to a corner and half the pack turned and half the pack kept going straight, that was enough to make my safety feel totally compromised. there's not much more frightening than seeing guys on one side going straight while guys on the other are turning into them. there was absolutely no excuse for not have marshalls at those corners. and of all people to be the promotor, sandy martin! she, of all people, should know better. when i dropped out and complained to her that w/o marshalls the course was completely unsafe, she just blew me off. as a result i refused to do the tt or the crit, and will never again do a race put on by her. did anyone else feel the lack of marshalls was totally stupid? tl
