New Britain Criterium 2008 Redux

A new friend I made at the race this summer sent me these pictures from the 30+ race. I attacked with one lap to go and then fell apart completely with 1/2 lap to go, finishing nearly dead last. Whatever.. Cool pictures.

Riding the tops, and no aero wheels; you never had a chance. Get rid of the fat stomach so you can ride the hooks and flatten your back. Then get some deep dish carbon wheels. They are good for at least 1 mph, probably more like 2 mph.

Try pedaling with both legs too. That has to help...

The only one in the drops is David Potter, who won both the 35+ and the 30+ back to back, so I dig what you say about the drops.. but did you also just say that I can BUY some speed? You are either exaggerating or pulling my chain. I'll buy the next pair of Powertap Zipp 808s or whatever on Ebay if you have proof of a 2mph advantage.

YMMV, but if you don't think they're way faster, then why does everyone use them? At 29 mph it is like night and day compared to a standard wheel. I'm sure the actual measured power savings has been quantified elsewhere by somebody.
